Kononov, who raised several generations of mineralogists at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Igor V. Pekov, one of his students, shares his memories. Two papers are both memorial and museum oriented. In one of them, Yulia V. Azarova and Irina P. Andreeva tell about the well-known geologist, geochemist andmineralogist Veniamin A. Silbermintz and his collections in the Vernadsky State Geological Museum.
